“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” —John Dewey
Education for me triggers the cognitive domain, affects the affective domain, and touches the psychomotor domain. Head, heart, and hand coordination complete the student's learning. I believe that education is not only about gaining knowledge, it is about experiencing life. Education had a great transition from back then to today. Children now are different from the children before. The needs of the generation today are different. Therefore, the curriculum should be dynamic in every possible way. The teaching approach and methodology must suit the child’s needs. Gardiner’s multiple intelligence states that children have different styles of learning and we as educators need to cater to the same.
And Pallavi Model School has a vision and mission which focuses on exactly what is needed today. It encompasses all the areas needed for the betterment of the students and their future. It visualizes students as the leaders of tomorrow and more than that responsible citizens who care for the environment as it inculcates values of sustainable development and goals. Not only that curriculum is aligned as per the NEP-National Education Policy, to give students the scope to learn the subjects better and overcome the fear of examination. Nonetheless, sports and other extra-curricular events are mapped in ratio to academics to ensure the holistic development of the child. Life skills, value education, and regular mentoring enable students to be prepared for all the upcoming challenges in life. Inter-school and inter-house competitions are conducted to instill competitive spirit among the students. We at Pallavi explore all possibilities to make room for student achievement to new horizons. We at Pallavi have SMART goals which are achieved as they are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. These goals help us work in time and each year child gets something new to experience.
In conclusion, I would say we at Pallavi nurture students with great academics, strong values, and excellent skills to experience life beyond the campus to aim for success, challenge failure, and become responsible citizens toward the nation and the environment.
